Independent Neighborhood News & Talking Points
2 May
The bright yellow signs are cropping up around the neighborhood, so perhaps you’ve been wondering what this Silicon Valley Open Studios thing is. Essentially, it’s several “open houses” hosted by local artists across the South Bay, hosted on weekends in May. This weekend includes artists from San Jose and points south. Artists in northern Santa Clara County open their studios next week (May 12-13) and you can explore the Peninsula May 20-21.
The WG Resident provided a great preview in last week’s edition, featuring several local painters and sculptors. The studios are hopefully open from 11:00 am to 5:00 pm, although times may vary slightly by artist.
Coincidentally, WG’s own Black Leopard Clayware is also hosting an open house of sorts this weekend:
ART OFF THE AVE 2007 Show & Sale
Mark your calendars for May 5-6, and join six talented established and emerging local artists at Black Leopard Clayware’s 4th annual show and sale! A lively collection of pottery, sculpture, jewelry, textiles, tiles and mixed media will be available, just in time for Mother’s Day and other gift-giving opportunities. You can download and print out the postcard.
We look forward to seeing you!
BLC isn’t a WGx Member yet, but we’re talking about the possibilities!
